COCKSPUR CASEMENT WINDOW HANDLE

This type of handle is for use mainly for older types of window.

It can also be used as extra security on windows where the espagnollette has broken and parts are no longer available, by leaving the broken item in the window so the old handle covers the holes and then fitting a cockspur handle and wedge to each side of the sash.

Designed with health and safety as a first consideration this is a versatile & easy to use restrictor ,that is suitable for all types windows, whether timber, upvc, aluminium or steel.

It operates in two modes: Push to release position - with the key slot at 90 degrees the bullett can be with drawn when the key button is depressed. Deadlocked position - insert & turn the key a further 90 degrees so the key slot is in line with the body. Withdraw the key to leave the restrictor deadlocked. The fact that it has two opertaing modes makes it ideal for both domestic and commercial applications. We recommend that the restrictor is fitted to provide a maximum opening of 100mm.

Meets BS8213 to restrict all windows in public areas

Meets BS5588 regarding egress from public dwellings

Exceeds BS6375 Part 2 by more than double the required standard

As the restrictor is only as effective as the fixings used, fixings are not supplied with the restrictor. This is due to the many varied window frame materials.

These friction stays have two positions: first they they open the sash to a 90 degree angle to provide an emergency exit, and secondly, by pressing  the button on the stay, will allow the window to slide across for easy cleaning. The stays click back into the normal position when the window is pulled closed in the usual manner.

They are manufactured in 430 grade stainless steel and offer improved prformance and weather sealing due to the nylon reduced friction end cap.

Avocet Triad 3D Hinge. The backplate is 24mm wide and 91 mm long. The hinge projects into the door by 95mm. They are easily adjustable in all 3 directions by allen key.

We would advise that if changing hinges as a result of a breakage that all the hinges are replaced. This is to effect a good repair and the fact that the other hinges may have been stressed.
